Tony Bambridge NSch ARAgS
Following a Nuffield Scholarship studying the marketing and production of potatoes and the influence of Agricultural co-operatives, Tony started B&C Farming Limited. Initially, the business grew potatoes on annually rented land. Today, the business farms and contracts over 1200 hectares of mixed cropping, runs a small haulage and engineering enterprise, pedigree Suckler Beef production and continues to focus on the production of potatoes, both ware and seed production.
After being a Director of Anglian Produce, a potato marketing co-operative, Tony became a Non-Executive Director and then Chairman of Greenvale AP Limited - a potato packing and marketing business. Tony then went onto become Non-Executive Director of Produce Investments PLC, the group holding company.
In addition to these commercial roles, Tony held three terms of office as a ministerial appointee to the British Potato Council. He then went on to the AHDB Potato Council, focusing on research and development with links to the Cambridge University Potato Research Association. Notably, Tony has been the Norfolk National Farmers Union County Chairman and National council representative. He currently holds the position of East Anglia Regional Vice Chairman, which has led to continuing work in the Agri-political arena.
Keen on rural pursuits and conservation, supporting the efforts of the Aylsham Agricultural Show association occupies any of Tony’s spare time.
